Alberta Boarding House and Bed and Breakfast room for rent
We have made changes with meals at the House. We no longer cater parties nor provide boarding services (self serving breakfast). Instead long term guests will be able to use the kitchen facilities to prepare their meals. These changes do not affect Bed and Breakfast guests who will still enjoy delicious, warm breakfast.
Breakfast typically consists of ( different recipes of) eggs, toast, sausage/bacon, pies, potato, fruits, yoghurt and usually a cook's surprise! We serve water, orange juice/smoothie and milk. We usually ask about allergies, food restrictions, and or preferences. In the past, cook has made special cakes and such if guests are celebrating a special occasion. We also cater to gluten free, celiac restrictions, vegetarian and dairy requirements.
We have set menus that guests can request for such as Cowboys (pancake, baked beans, scrambled eggs, potato hash, cornbread and bacon) , Irish (soda bread, bacon, sausage, eggs, white pudding, boxty, mushrooms and tomato), Malaysian (coconut rice, anchovy sauce, fried peanuts, boiled eggs and chicken) (toasted bread with coconut jam, fried egg with dark soy), German (cheese, meat, boiled eggs, rolls, liverwurst, German salami, jams and honey), First Nation/Canadian ( bannock, pemmican cake, cornbread, baked oatmeal, rappie pie, beaver tails), Logger's Breakfast (eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, pancakes)
In the summer we plant our vegetable and fruit garden, and so we serve fresh raspberries, zucchini bread, kale, spinach smoothies, tomatoes, rhubarb dishes, potato dishes gooseberry jam etc.
